A New Chapter

It’s official - the purchase is completed.

After many months of back and forth, of solicitor emails and tense silences over the issues with our parking lot (that comes as a bundle but not without a fight), the studio at 20 Canham Rd is officially ours. It feels strange to say it out loud, after working in this building for over two decades we now own the walls that have quietly witnessed so much change.

There’s something poetic about reclaiming the larger part of the space where Shutters first began. It’s a bit like stepping back into a childhood home and seeing it with new eyes, older, maybe wiser and still full of possibility.

We’ve completed the demolition of internal structures at the back of the building and the space is already breathtaking to me. Still very dusty and rough around every of the edges, but it’s so easy to imagine what it will become now, looking at the blank canvas.

Its early days and the to-do list is long but it feels good to be finally moving forward. Slowly, the pieces are falling into place and I can’t wait to show you what’s coming.
